got a lotta lana

was thinking of doing tons of stuff here today at home but i ended up vegging out in front of the tv. the out-of-this-world lure of pirated dvds engulfed me, and i had to succumb to disc one of SMALLVILLE season one. and here we are.

yes, i finished all four episodes, interesting history there, and quite a playful story arc to develop. can't believe the story ran on simple rules, energized by possibilities beyond reality. diba, x-ray vision, man of steel, FLYING! after all, it is superman's story. but that's how you take an old, if not tired, thing and spin it back and give it new life. that's what they did here. also what they did with other stories, series, and all, like DARK ANGEL, CSI, and ALIAS. unlike here. been also monitoring QUEER AS FOLK season 3 (yes, i have a copy na!!!!!!! vcd nga lang. henryyyyyy!!!!!!!! exciting! pero di ko pa mapanood lahat kasi i've to wait for m to come back from a trip). bakit sila nakakadevelop ng mga ganoong shows? unlike here, the first sign of difference or originality shakes the execs to the core. isn't film and television about reinvention? after all, television is indeed a reinvention of film. oh well, i could go on and on about that, but i don't want to.

it's always nice to write something right after i've seen some stuff, a new movie or play or tv show, because the energies flow like crazy, like now. it's just that sometimes, other things bug you down, but i know i shouldn't let them. or else, i'd be forever stuck with the first 15 sequences of my myriads of scripts and first couple of paragraphs of my myriad of short stories. speaking of which, i just discovered the other day that those sparks of stories i had before stashed somewhere in my pc got wiped out. my beb told me not to worry about them for i will think of some new ones. yeah, but i just regret some of the sparks i had there, they were really very good, not to make buhat the bangko or anything like that naman here ha. even i am amazed that i produced them, 'lam mo 'yun? and as i recall, some of those sparks were made under the influence of some liquid or other. haha. strange, in an edgar allan poe-ish or ernest hemingway-ish kind of way. oh well. why can't i be like virginia woolf who was contented with a stick of cigarette as she wrote great opening lines?

"Mrs. dalloway said she will buy the flowers herself."

and nicole kidman was such a great actor in that role. hay. bitin nga lang ang pelikulang 'yon. teka, di ko pa pala nababasa yung pulitzer novel na yun ah. but i digress.

well, back to my smallsikatunaville. it's already past 4p and i can't believe it. and yet i can. i woke up with another bad dream today and that's not always good for me for the rest of the day. decided to cancel my trip with mom actually, but that's mutual consent -- pareho kaming tinatamad. like mother like daughter. that's where i get it from, i guess.

well anyway, i guess the day is just starting for me today. i can't believe how much time flies by when you\'re on a relaxing-learning mode. i wish i could freeze time and just watch all the movies or read all the books i want. that's why i love carl sagan's CONTACT so much. aside from the bias for jodie foster my love playing dr. ellie on the film version, there's this eccentric millionaire genius character there, the one who financed the building of the second machine thing in japan. his death wish was to have himself locked up in a space ship, and that space ship is filled with all the good books, music and literature ever produced by humankind, and some life support system, of course, and he was blasted into space inside that thing. he said space slows ageing (did i spell that right?) and so he'll live long enough to enjoy his final days (he's dying of cancer kasi). di ba brilliant character???????? i thought i was the only one who had this crazy fantasy of being trapped inside UP main lib so i can read all the books there. heheh, dapat pala sa megamall ko na maisip ma-trap, at least doon may sine pa. :) pero hello ha, robert zemeckis reduced this character into an eccentric financier lang sa film. hay hollywood. but i digress again.

so going back to lana-ville, wala lang. what's up with her? she ain't pretty, man. or maybe she's just not my type. she\'s got weird eyes eh, and i don't like women with weird eyes, kinda hard to trust them. well, oo nga, lana's not my type lang. pero why am i enjoying this show? la lang. mukhang bading si clark? hey, he's prettier than lana!!! at parang exciting yung homoerotic undertones nila ni lex? kahit kalbo, fafa fa rin. at parang may possibility na i-develop ang lesbian undertones ni lana at ni chloe? uuy, queer as folk junior high ang dating nito heheh. pero seriously, minsan gusto kong sumigaw 'hoy clark kent wake up! paglaki mo, you'll lust after lois lane! junk that lana girl!' haha reality smasher there for him. but hey, he has to grow up din naman, so siya, sige, fine, lana ka na lang jan. for now.

hay the products of a sleepdebt-ridden mind. i need oxygen...

ps. oh hey para sa mga pupunta dito sa bahay, kasalukuyang kulay pula ang gate namin from being white. :) la lang. lana ko ma-sey, heheh.

psps. hey i also bought KILL BILL na nga pala! si lucy liu pala yung o-ren ishii ba yun? kia said watch out for that character. gosh, anything lucy liu does yata eh i like, maybe for lack of asian women representation on mainstream hollywood fare. but yes, that pirated version will soon be discovered. ah, the wonders of technological ripping. revenge of the third world, man! yeh! pero di ko pa siya napapanood. inuuna ko nga itong sikatunaville. saka hinihintay ko pa ang aking watching mate. :) at atatnaatatnakongmapanooditongqueerasfolkseason3ican\'tstanditanylonger!!!!!! nek, uwi ka naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!
