the L's words

so it's a friday and i'm all alone here at home. it's ten before eleven in the evening before the weekend arrives. hay, weekend, how i like you very much these days. it's quite enjoyable but in a new non-escapist way.

it's been a while since i wrote here, mainly because i knew i wouldn't have the time these days to write extensively as before. this is because of my new work, of course, at isis international manila. the work there came also at a good time, because my home desktop got busted again, as i told you. leaves me with no real machine to write journals such as this one, online or off. i'm squatting on my baby's computer today because i'm also downloading realone player which we need in order to watch THE L WORD!!! yes, we got a copy! we got a copy! or rather, i got a copy from a good friend who was so good to give me copies on cds. but it's on real player format that's why i'm downloading it now. almost done. :)

can't wait to see it! that's why i took a peek earlier at the office and checked out the promo trailers and the first 3 or 4 sequences of the pilot episode. and kia was right -- it is hot! pero yung brian kinney character nila, bakit dugyutin look? if she lost that semi-goth vampire paleness dugyut look, type ko sana siya. but argh, where are the latina lesbians? this is set in california pala but so far, no brown-skinned dykes around. hm. unfair.

well anyway, i'm still happy we got copies. grabe dude, you know who you are, i owe you!!!! thanks thanks thanks!!! :) hahaha firstfew sequences pa lang, kinda relate na ako hehe but i ain't telling kung kanino o saang sitwasyon hehe basta relate to the max! hehe. saka directed pala ito ni rose troche, no? nice to see that name again. kaya pala ganun yung pacing, medyo mabagal but in a cinematic way. sana pick-up-in nya yung pace in other episodes like what she did with their earlier dyke work GO FISH.

hay, speaking of, depressed ako kasi wala pa pala kaming moolah this weekend eh parang gusto ko nang magka-budget for dvd hunting of L films. i'm sure marami na ulit dyan. have to go see, baka mayma-miss ako sa mga new batches. also we're on the lookout for our old favorites kaya waaaah wa budget! :(

pepsi in da morning?

it's a rather weird day for me today, although i got lots of sleep than the previous days. feeling a little off-tangent today, just like yesterday morning, but that was a different ballgame.


hmm wait a minute. i'm writing this on a wednesday but i think it will appear as i've written it yesterday. the one i wrote yesterday appeared as if i've written it last monday. what gives? the dates on my computer here are okay naman. hmm weird.

anyway, i'm just trying to relax here, as i said. i came in at 11a and will probably leave by 6 or 7 again. i need to get more sleep because i'll be up tomorrow very early. thinking of asking papa to give me a ride, but i don't know.

well, yeah, it's official, my computer at home is again busted, so i won't be able to do any msoffice-related thing there, because mso is gone, so is norton utilities. my internet connections were also erased but most of the programs are still running. was still able to continue my EMPEROR city play. but that's about all i can do there right now. so surfing, mp3 playing and stuff, i squat on mab's computer first, or just do it here at the office. thank godness i don't have any kind of extra work going right now, or i'll be as twisted as a knot again these days. hay buhay, ICTs, technology, sometimes boon, sometimes bane. well, i guess that's the way it goes.

new work

it's noon and i just had lunch. well, actually, half past noon and i'm all alone here working at the office. everyone's in antipolo for the stratplanmeet and i'll be following there by thursday. so there.

just have to tell everyone that i'm now working fulltime at isis international-manila. that's at http://www.isiswomen.org, a women's ngo focused on media advocacy. i'm handling the campaigns and media literacy ek of the org as well as handling the regular international newsletter publication of theirs. so that's cool. it's a nice office, women-only space, and i really like that very much. this means that it has a comfortable working environment, and of course, being all women, we tend to feel the moods of each other easier or quicker, because it also lessens the ek between the sexes thing rampant in offices, you know, especially corporate ones.

so there. i'm fairly happy here, been working part-time for more than a year here, and i'm glad they chose me to work here fulltime. yehei!

favorite accessory of the moment: this simple necklace thing with the small wooden chips colored like the rainbow. mari, my officemate, gave this to me. she got this from some latin american lesbianas at the world social forum in mumbai, india last month. when she told the latinam gal that she's giving it to a fellow les org-aniser, she got it for free (it was being sold pala). heheh cool. i likes very muchas.

so now i might not have more time writing stuff, personal creative stuff like i used to write before. i was able to submit some stuff to a lot of publications naman anyway so i'm alright with that already. next time na maybe, when i am used to the workload here already, puwede na ulit isingit.

same dilemma with some friends. like my vet friend, a very good writer-thinker, misses writing in her blog, and we miss reading it. a friend who works for a newspaper here says 'puro raket na lang ba tayo? paano na ang panitikan?' oh yeah, he's a filipino poet nga pala, heheh. hay, i sympathize. and also my other writer-friend now officemate,lamenting on the absence of fiction writing in her life now. i told her that's a pity because she writes good fiction pa naman, so maybe she'll be jolted by some MA CW courses in UP soon. and now, there's me, who might get stuck in blog writing these days. but at least it's still writing. and well, i'm fine with that for now.
